Music Ministry

Music in The Episcopal Church can be as diverse as its worship services. Although final authority over the music used in an Episcopal service is "the duty of every Minister" (Canon 24, Section 1), our hymnal draws all Episcopalians together musically in the same way that the Book of Common Prayer draws us together in prayer and liturgy. At St. Philip's, we draw from not only the 1982 Hymnal, but also the "Lift Every Voice And Sing II" hymnal.

Handshake

Welcoming Committee

Ushers and Greeters are often the first people newcomers will meet at St. Philip's. This important welcoming ministry helps newcomers get oriented and our regular attenders feel at home. Greeters do the announcements, warmly express welcome, and escort people to destinations, creating confidence that all entering the building are never alone or lost. Ushers guide people to seating and also take offerings.

Volunteers Packing Food

Outreach

Church outreach programs aim to extend support and compassion to those in need within the community. By providing hot meals to the unhoused on Wednesdays and providing care packages for those in need, the church seeks to embody the teachings of love and service. These initiatives foster a sense of unity and hope, bringing people together to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
