Our Ministries and Outreach

As a loving member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, you will soon experience the power of healing through service and community. Our ministries offer different opportunities for members to give and share God’s love in fellowship and give back to our community. In honor of Our Savior, who sacrificed so much for us, St. Philip’s Episcopal Church has a ministry fit for you no matter your age or stage in life. So, where do you see yourself?

The Men’s Club

Our community of men and boys provides leadership and assisting in projects like building & grounds maintenance and beautification.

Episcopal Church Women

Women’s group dedicated to the betterment of women and girls with a focus on improving the lives of our members and their communities.

Union of Black Episcopalians

Our chapter provides outreach with the Clara White Mission, the City Rescue Mission, St. Philip’s, the local homeless community and more.

Lay Eucharistic Ministers

Lay Eucharistic Ministers, or LEMs, assist the priest in administering the sacraments of holy communion.

Technology Committee

Responsible for establishing and maintaining web and computer systems, internal/external communications, and A/V equipment.

Music Ministry

Music is a beautiful prayer and praise to God through song. At St. Philip’s, our choir and musicians is as  diverse as its worship services.

Christian Formation

Christian Formation is lifelong growth in the knowledge, service, and love of God as followers of Christ and is informed by scripture, tradition, and reason.

Flower Guild

The flowers that adorn the altar on Sundays during the year, except Lent and Advent are the creation of the hard work of the Flower Ministry.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild plays a major role in worship services by carrying out the work of cleaning, preparing the altar weekly for service.

Outreach

Every Wednesday, St. Philip’s Episcopal Church members feed our less fortunate brethren, most of whom live on the streets of Jacksonville.

Acolytes

Acolytes assist the priest in the various liturgical activities. Dedication and understanding of the flow of the worship service is required.

Daughters of the King

Daughters are communicants of the Episcopal Church who pledge themselves to a life-long program of prayer, service, and evangelism.

Cursillo

Cursillo is a renewal of faith retreat consisting of learning and sharing inspirational experiences of living in a Christian community.
